About us
Helping our community find each other.
When you move to a new city, the hardest part is not finding a house. It is finding the accountant who understands your situation, the grocer who stocks what you cook with, the priest for your housewarming, the tutor for your kids.
DesiNetwork exists so that search takes minutes instead of months.
Our story
Started by newcomers, for newcomers
DesiNetwork started in Calgary with a simple observation: the South Asian community in Canada is large, entrepreneurial and deeply connected — but finding each other still depended on WhatsApp groups and word of mouth.
Businesses were invisible to the people actively looking for them. Community events were discovered the day after they happened. Good local operators lost work to whoever happened to rank on a generic directory that knew nothing about them.
We built a directory that understands the community it serves — organised by city, searchable in the terms people actually use, and open to any business willing to stand behind its reviews.

More than a directory
Events and ticketing, a business toolkit, and a community blog — all in one place.
What we stand for
Principles we will not trade away
Local first
A directory is only useful if the results are places you can actually visit. Every search starts with your city, not a national list.
Honest reviews
We do not sell better rankings. Paid placement is always labelled, and a business can never delete a review it does not like.
Built on trust
Listings get verified, businesses claim their own profiles, and reviews from work booked here carry a verified-customer badge.
Community owned
Cannot find the right category? Suggest one. Approved suggestions become available to every business on the platform.
Want to be part of it?
Whether you run a business, organise events, or just want to write about life in your city — there is a place for you here.
