Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of desinetwork.ca ("the Site"), run by Desi Network ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Who can use the Site

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site, and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live to create an account or list a business.

Your account

Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep your email address current, as we use it to confirm important changes. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Business and event listings

• You may list a business or event only if you run it or have permission to list it, and the information must be true and current.
• Every new listing, and changes to a published one, are reviewed by our team before they appear. We may edit for format, decline, pause or remove a listing that breaks these terms or that we cannot verify.
• By submitting a listing, text or photos, you confirm you have the right to share them and give us permission to show them on the Site and in our promotion of it. You keep ownership of your content.
• Some listings were added from public information. If you own one, you can claim it to edit or remove it, or contact us.
• A "verified" badge means the owner proved to us that they run the business. It is not an endorsement of the business's work.

Reviews

Reviews must be your own honest experience with the business. Do not review your own business or a competitor's, offer or accept anything for a review, or post anything abusive, discriminatory, private (such as someone's phone number) or unlawful. We check reviews before they appear and may decline or remove those that break these rules. Owners may reply publicly to reviews.

Things you must not do

• Copy, collect or scrape listings, contact details or other content from the Site by automated means, or reuse them in another directory or database.
• Use contact details from the Site to send unsolicited messages or for any purpose other than contacting the business about its services.
• Post false, misleading, spam or harmful content, or impersonate someone else.
• Try to get around our security, limits or checks, or interfere with how the Site works.
• Use the Site in a way that breaks the law, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Information on the Site

Listings and events are provided by businesses, organizers and our community. We review them, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is accurate, complete or current, and we do not endorse any business. Check important details, such as licences, prices and opening hours, directly with the business before you rely on them. Arrangements you make with a business are between you and that business.

Our content

The Site's design, logo, text and guides belong to Desi Network or our licensors. You may share links to our pages, but not copy or republish our content without permission.

Links to other sites

The Site links to businesses' websites, ticket sellers and other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

Limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Desi Network is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the Site or from dealings with any business listed on it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law, or infringe someone else's rights, through the Site, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of claims made against us as a result.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Alberta, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms as the Site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept it.
